Darwin J. Bruce
Mr. Darwin J. Bruce is a business leader, author, speaker, and corporate lawyer. Mr. Bruce is the President and CEO of Capital Market Ventures, LLC, a mergers and acquisitions and business strategy advisory services company located in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Bruce also serves as of Counsel with the international corporate law firm Haynes and Boone, LLP. His main practice areas include mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions, private equity, corporate transactions, and finance. Mr. Bruce has been honored by the Dallas Business Journal as a “Forty under 40” honoree, which recognizes the top 40 business executives and entrepreneurs under the age of forty in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. In 2009, he was a recipient of a Distinguished Alumni Award from SMU Dedman School of Law. Mr. Bruce was also featured in D CEO Magazine in 2010. His publications include the book “The Map to Entrepreneurship”.
Mr. Bruce has experience in all phases of business organization and management. He works with entrepreneurs, business executives, and other leaders in their quest to manage all the matters affecting corporate structure, strategic planning, and operations of their organizations. He has been a guest speaker at events in the United States and abroad. Common topics presented in speaking engagements include leadership, entrepreneurship, business strategy and planning, business management, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate compliance.
He has served as the Chief Operating Officer for T.D. Jakes Ministries where he was responsible for managing all business affairs for the organization and its affiliated entities. He has served as Chief Executive Officer for an electronics manufacturing and service company. He has also served as a Senior Vice President and General Counsel for MedCare Financial, a finance and private equity company. Mr. Bruce provided management oversight for the companies in the private equity portfolio and handled all mergers and acquisitions. He also managed all transactions for the health care services and finance companies, their subsidiaries, and affiliates. He handled complex financial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate and securities matters, employee relations, general commercial transactions, corporate compliance, and other related business matters.
Mr. Bruce received his juris doctorate degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law and holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University. He serves on the Executive Board of Directors of Southern Methodist University School of Law, the Board of Directors of the Better Business Bureau of North Central Texas, and on the Advisory Board of Directors of the North Texas Division of the Salvation Army.
